Paper Mache Material

Hi Team! Don't forget to bring all the material that you need to start the skeleton of your paper mache character. Some were bringing old bottles (eg. milk, fizz, tomato sauce or old shampoo or conditioner bottles), toilet or paper towel rolls, number 8 wire and chicken wire.

You need to have this tomorrow so we can get our skeletons made and then start with the pulp through the week. Exciting stuff!!! See you all tomorrow :-)

ps. Those that didn't hand in their homework on Friday please have on my desk by 9am.

What an impressive and overwhelming effort the Myross Bush Community put in to raise funds for Canterbury. Not only did people donate money, they brought in supplies of water, toilet paper and tinned food. It is a lovely feeling to know that people will do anything at the drop of a hat to help others.

OUR GRAND TOTAL FOR THE DAY WAS.... $909!!! SUPER EFFORT.

If families are still wanting to donate through the school please bring money in envelopes on Monday. Everything we make the ILT will double!!!!

Make sure you are a follower of Room 7 and Room 8 and check out the different photos from today.

Hi Team! Remember your red and black clothes tomorrow along with your gold coin for our COIN TRAIL. If you are first to school you can help us get organised for an influx of children with their gold coins. It has been really lovely to hear your ideas on how we can get raising money to help all families in the Christchurch area. Go Rooms 7 & 8!

The Duck Song

Check out the song for our Assembly item with Room 8. It is quite different to how we sung it today. We will talk about it as a group on Thursday. Happy waddling!!!
Can you guess how many meters are around the track for athletics?
If you comment make sure you write your name. You only get one guess and if you get it right you will receive a special prize...

Also a huge thank you to Mr Redding who mowed the track. We had better not forget our markers...Liam, Wilson, Kaitlyn and Olivia F.

Well...Bethany and I have been making sculptures in the sandpit everyday. First we did a cake with 3 layers, then we made a big turtle with 3 little ones surrounding it and they all had patterns on their shells.

After school Betty made a dolphin and the next morning we created another dolphin. Last but not least was out clown with a big nose, a hat with a pom pom, 2 cream pies in his hands and a BIG smile.

Onto Week 3 already!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. Well done to all those who competed in the 'Surf to City'. I look forward to hearing about it tomorrow.

Just a few reminders for Monday... Please remember appropriate clothing for Athletics practise and don't forget your Literature Circle books as we are very lucky to have Mrs Hughes visiting us at 11am to talk about these great books.

By the way, did anyone find the answer to our Brain Teaser last week?
"I have a box of cereal that weighs one kilogram. I put something in it, now my box weighs half a kilogram. What did I put in the box?"

Memory Challenge

Check out "Simon Says" at the bottom of our Blog. I used to play this when I was young...so much fun! See if your parents remember it :-)

Room 7 demonstrated their creative problem solving skills today when faced with the Marshmallow Challenge. Not only did they work co-operativley in groups, some displayed great leadership skills. Keep checking up in the Blog and commenting on your thoughts :-)

Hi everyone. We have had a busy day...the "jelly bean" game was yummy, our new furniture is really comfortable and awesome and we are creating collages to show who we are.

There will be a Room 7 and 8 newsletter going home tomorrow. Looking forward to sharing our learning on our Blog with you all this year. Keep checking out our Blog :-)
